Which part will never fly? Leasing vs owning a Windows OS? Not wanting to go too far off topic, but didnt MS already make that statement a few years ago? IIRC, MS came out and stated (to the effect of) If you buy (actually lease) 1 copy of windows, you are permitted to only install that on one computer. Its MS' position that if you want to install windows on another computer you must purchase another copy of windows. They just havent actually gotten around to adding code to prevent this from happening (yet). Please correct me if Im wrong, I just seem to recall this coming out a few years ago- they may have actually rescinded this claim since then..

You are indeed allowed to only install a copy of Windows on one computer. Although it seems they're a little relaxed about installing it on another of your computers if you tell them that you bought a different used computer to replace your old one.
