Depends what you define as older drivers I guess. Drivers for older cards, or older, and possibly obsolete drivers? Looks like the latest Catalyst is 6.11. Oh and btw, last time I had a Radeon card, I used Omega Drivers. I thought that the Catalyst was quite a bloat at the time (probably even more now ) so I looked for a good alternative.

Well, I guess it doesn't matter what drivers I'm using, since I'll soon be using the Radeon Omega Drivers, v3.8.252 (based on the Catalyst 6.5 drivers, which are apparently the last fully compatible Radeon drivers for my 9250)... Thank you Mika for the link... I would've never known about them. I'll give an update after I install them and test things out with Fusion, SSF, and pSX.

Well, no, I mean older versions: there's a version offered for most cards, although not much choice for older ones. But before AMD took over, I could find all previous Radeon drivers, for instance, on the site - even pre-Catalyst ones. Now I think they're only offering drivers as far back as Catalyst 6.1, which came out less than a year ago, and no versions with Control Panel are available (AIR the last Control Panel version was Catalyst 5.10) - so you're tied in to .net.
Omega drivers are based on ATI's drivers, they're simply optimised. So any bloat in ATI's drivers has to be reflected on Omegadrive's drivers. Except that he may be, I suppose, doing an alternative to Control Centre; I haven't looked at the site for a long time, but AIR he used to do his own versions of Control Panel.
Edit@GM: look at Omegadrive's FAQs: he says that _any_ of his drivers (i.e. up to and including his reworking of Catalyst 6.9) are Ok to use with _any_ Radeon card - and, FWIW, he offers the same drivers for XP and W2K as well. According to ATI/AMD, the most recent drivers available for my Radeon 9700 Pro under W2K is Catalyst 6.2...
He's probably correct. His drivers, for instance, have long been known to work with Radeon integrated cards, while the equivalent ATI originals wouldn't.
I have to say, though, I've tried Omegadrive's version on several occasions with several cards, and never been impressed. I'm using Catalyst 4.12 now, have been for some time and I'm very happy with it.

patrickp: Well, I read this on the site, and that's why I got the slightly older drivers. And I have a 9250. Now, it wasn't during boot that I got the BSOD, but still, I never had problems with the older drivers... it seems that only when I started using the newer drivers, that any kind of problems occured. As for the Control Center, this is what it says right on the first screen when installing his drivers. Bah... I actually fell asleep while uninstalling ATI's Control Center, and just woke up a little while ago, so *now* I'll be testing the drivers. I guess, I'll give an update in a little while. And my opinion on Omega's drivers vs ATI's original's, since I've been using those for years with this card.

Ach, a misunderstanding. I meant the CCC, not the drivers. Drivers are fine, but the the hugeass control center is just horrible, it took million years to start back then, probably even longer now. Like two million years. Needless to say that I dislike heavyweight applications when lighter ones are available. Not too long ago NVidia put out their new control panel as well, which is heavily based on Windows XP control panel (on the default settings), and is horrible to use. Thankfully they provide the old control panel as an option as well. Man I would be pissed if they had stripped the old version out of the releases completely.

Pff... got the BSOD again, doing the same exact things in Fusion. This time, I got smart and decided to do some searching. Wanna see my results? Ultima might find this interesting... Remember how I said that, on the BSOD, it specifically mentioned BRGSp50.sys as the problem? Go to this link, and scroll down that list of files/folder there just a little bit. And note what this list is for... the exact set of drivers that I installed.

Nah, serching Google for that filename was the very reason I stumbled across that site -- and it's also the exact reason as to why I keep blaming your modem xD
If you really want to test to be sure, disconnect yourself from the modem and uninstall the drivers, then try Kega Fusion again with all the plugins.

I was thinking of trying that. But I'm pretty sure it'll work, especially considering that the wireless modem is the only device that uses that file.
Edit: Looks like my roommate is most definitely gonna have to get that ethernet kit soon for his Wii... cuz sure as hell, it's that damn wireless adapter that's been causing the problem. Too bad for him, I don't plan on reinstalling the drivers. Fusion just looks too damn beautiful with the hq3x filter on for me to give it up... XD

You should see how Sonic 3 and Streets Of Rage 2/3 looks with it, especially with the settings that I suggested before. Get your damn computer fixed. You're really missing out if you don't. lol.

Umm... I *did* fix it (didn't you see my previous post... LOL). And... Streets of Rage 2 was actually the game I tested. Using your settings. Pure ecstacy... That's why he's not getting his WiFi Max installed ever again. Edit: I noticed I didn't mention that I had used your settings, but I indeed tried. The only thing... I prefer it without the scanlines...

Lol. I misread your post. ;D Happens sometimes when I skim through posts . That's a shame. The scanlines make it so much better. I'm glad that it finally worked for you though. I wish that all emulators would give you the option to add in your own plugins, most of them only give you a few of the more popular ones by default but those aren't always the best for each game. You might need something else. Now that I'm really hyped up about Genesis emulation, I with there was Kaillera for Kega so I could play online with others. Kega doesn't support Kaillera and you have to know the person's IP if you want to play with them . I just want to randomly pick my victim online and senselessly kick their ass. No feelings or guilt attached. I get a feeling that all of this stuff should be in the "What's your favorite emulator" thread...

LOL... sadly, started to forget that it *wasn't* in that thread. I vote, if possible, to move the relevant posts to that thread.
SuperScale is really awesome for cleaning up the image, but still providing very clear, crisp, and accurate looking graphics.

One word: Proboards. Sadly, we can't move posts either. So that means someone will just have to pick up the conversation over there .

Ugh... they really don't give enough options here, do they? Oh well, I was done talking about it anyway, unless somebody else has something to say...

I feel like a security officer more than a police officer here if you know what I mean . As long as we can ban members who start badmouthing pSX, then I can deal with the limitations . You got your problem fixed. So yeah, I guess it's pretty much done now. Back to the topic. It's sad that the VBA is pretty much dead. At least Forgotton gave everyone notice before deciding that he wanted to quit on the project. He passed the torch to some other guy and he made like 3 beta releases and just gave up which is proof that being an emulator programmer isn't an easy job. You have to have some cojones if you want to take on a project like that. The sad thing is that most emulators are open source yet not many seem to pick up where the emulator was left off. People get upset and complain when an emulator is closed source but when it 's open, nothing is done . As long as the older systems are well emulated before the authors decides to throw in the towel (which most of them are), I'll be happy. Even my favorite emulators such as Kawaks, Kega, Nestopia, PJ64, and pSX are still actively in development (Nestopia and pSX being the more active ones). So there will be lots of improvements to come in those emulators. When I first found out about emulation, it brought back so many nostalgic feelings and memories of the happy days when I used to go to my friends' houses as a kid to play Sonic, Streets of Rage, and Mario. Those systems seem really well emulated at this point and time with all of my favorite games being playable and they play even better than the original console does with enhancements in most cases. So I can't complain .
