Mabe for the next version you could have a compressed winzip with image files in it, like the mame arcade emulator dose place you zip files into your Image file the pSX with uncompress it saving space on your hard drive!!!, I like the speed its even better!,
Making it even better then the ePSXe

Already has a compression facility: the CDZ tool, drwhojoe. Just uses the .cdz format (I think - haven't used it myself) instead of, say, a .zip or .rar format.

A few things that would be nice to have:
Compatibility with compressed images in .zip and .rar, but there's probably a reason you created the CDZ format.
A default path option for the CD drive similar to the path for CD Images. It would be nice if I could set the path, since my CD drive location doesn't change too often.
Other discussion notes:
I agree, blurriness looks way better than the blockiness or any other kind of filtering I've tried to apply.
Excellent emulator! I've wasted so much time messing with plugins and pSX destroys the competition in easy of use and visual quality.

I hope this already hasn't been suggested or I'll make myself look an idiot heh. I would like to see though, the ability to bind a button to change from analog to digital modes on the joypad. Just like the original 'Analog' button on the dualshock/analog controllers. Perhaps if this can be in the 'Pads' tab, with the ability to set an individual button for player 1 and 2 that would be fantastic Edit: I am an idiot, I just saw this in the psx 1.6 request thread heh, oh well, it would still be nice

Average user won't care but will be usefull for PSF rippers so here we go : pSX already gives the "reverb type" info, can you make it output the "reverb depth" and "seq volume" values aswell so it make it easier/quicker for us to adjust our drivers ? Well these things are at the software level, not the hardware level, but... rvol is probably what you mean by "reverb depth" (there are two values printed one for left and one for right, they are usually the same). No idea what "seq volume" is, but mvol is the master volume, maybe thats what you mean?

I've wasted so much time messing with plugins and pSX destroys the competition in easy of use and visual quality. .zip and .rar are fairly useless for an emulator. They don't support efficient seeking - in fact the only way to seek forwards in a .zip or .rar is to decompress, discarding the data until you get to the point you want. The only way to seek backwards is to start decompressing at the start, discarding data until you get back to the point you want... that would be really really slow - it could take minutes to seek to the right point in the file! The only real way to support .zip and .rar would be to just decompress the entire file at the start... which would take a few minutes. CDZ supports efficient seeking which is the reason it exists - this is also why it doesn't get as good compression as .zip or .rar - its a tradeoff.

I would like to see Sub channel reading and better compatibility i am one of those people who don't care about cheat engines or have 1 million differant graphic options to choose from or have surround sound and other crap like that just plain and simple

I don't know why people keep asking for enhanced graphics when it has been stated over and over on this forum that the objective is for true PSX emulation and not enhancement.(not to be rude ^o^ just stating) As for the Smartjoy controllers I have the same problem when trying to use an Xbox controller (sticks to AXIS-5).

You're going to have to use the command prompt to run it. Its usage is described in the readme.

I'm asking this since the first version, but whatever...
- An Option to disable the picture stretch.
I dont know exactly, but I guess that if you use any other resolution, besides the original resolution of the game (320x240 in most games), psX will always resize it.
So, maybe an option to disable this resize would be nice.
Another great thing would be an Auto Switching resolution mode. Since a lot of games use more than 1 resolution, it would be nice if you could select the resolution you want to use for each resolution the game have.
Kega Fusion have this option, for example...
"Mode256x240" - If the original resolution of the game is 256x240 (like Chrono Trigger), the emulator changes the video card resolution to 256x240 and etc.

Yes, these would be my suggestions
- fix the regressions caused with the current update - try to make some of the REALLY famous games playable (FF series, tekken series) - subchannel reading would be the next BIG thing for a compatibility boost (especially for PAL games)
And sometimes (not for the near future) I would like the NTSC filter from blargg included. For the real and authentic look (but I don't know, if this would be viable technically or performancewise).
