Yeah, it really would be a waste of time to inplement an auto-update feature into the emulator. Sure, it might be a little more convenient, but I think that at this point, the focus of the next few versions is for more important issues, like compatibility, bug-fixes, and features that everyone can agree would be important/very nice to have. Maybe after the emulator passes 2.0, there can be consideration for something like an auto-update feature. Not trying to cut on anybody... just saying I don't think there's enough demand for it to be considered at this point.

I second that (and even if I'm forgetting something, it's certainly *one* of the most important things).

Subcode reading is implemented in v1.7 - I have been playing Spyro3 ;p (which probably has the nastiest protection of any Playstation1 game).

Already solid progress in v1.7... you really do work fast! Either you spend a lot of time on it, or you eat C++ books for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And ASM books for dessert. Thank you ahead of time for the great work on v1.7.
(XD... I bet I'm the first to seriously thank you for that!)

Just a question... there's no way to simulate a TV appearance (resolution... I dunno ;p) using a PC Monitor? The games running on real Psx + TV doesn't look so pixelated as on Psx emulators + Monitors. I'm just asking if its possible, because I never saw an emulator or a GPU plugin capable of that.

Thank you so much making version 1.6 it works stable and perfect with my favorite games I do have 1 suggestion for adding in the emulator, I hope this will be no bother. Could there be possible a cd drive status information be shown when inserting and ejecting disc (swapping). Sometimes I'm so confused cause of the "real" emulation I can't determine if a disc is inserted or not (like L.E.D. indication). When swapping disc I use: "Eject disc" then I use "Insert Image disc" or "Insert CD drive". I noticed when I'm in a game and eject the disc and load a new game (image / real cd) and then "reset" it still goes to the bios screen. If you reset it again it will load the game So it seems the disc wasn't inserted at the first reset. or maybe it was.... Hope this feature will be implanted in the next version.

I will ask you a favor: can you PLEEEASE include the full ISO of this game together with the next version of pSX?? ;D which probably has the nastiest protection of any Playstation1 game. Meh, I should mail you the Brazilian versions of Gex 1 and Guardian's Crusade. Then you would see what a real copy protection is!!

Damn... I'm glad I use NTSC games. They seem to have the least amount of copy-protected games. I do like the request for a status display of whether a game is inserted or not. Indeed, there have been many times where I wondered if the emulator was actually running an image or not, because of the problem with ejecting, inserting, and resetting not playing the image. The question is... where would you put it? It'd look sort-of funny in the game window. Maybe the status could be expressed as a message in the dos window, but then people would start getting confused, thinking without looking that it's an error message. Maybe on the right end of the menu bar on the game window?

That's a good idea too. Although I like my idea too, yours would most likely be the one used if an indication of status was implemented for a CD/image.

They seem to have the least amount of copy-protected games. According to the sites I've checked, there are a total of 24 NTSC-US, about 40 NTSC-J games, and about 60 PAL. That's not many at all, when you think about the sheer number of PSX titles out there. It just happens to be that there are a number of more popular titles that were copyright protected.

One idea or three I've had are:
Don't allow resizing of the emulator's window. Or, atleast have an option to keep the aspect ratio within the window once you accidently fiddle with it, and then a 'reset size' option.
I too am finding that I also like the idea of finding another name for the emulator, if only because Googling "pSX" makes it hard to find this place. i thought up the idea of 'PS0', or PSZero... something like that, since this emu may one day also support PS2 games as well.
