Fixed several GTE bugs (Crash Bandicoot 3 + others) More accurate SPU noise and FM (FF7 and ChronoCross sound correct) Set mask bit for lines (MGS frequency display now works) Fixed bug where primitive coordinates were not sign extended (ChronoCross) Swapped analog sticks Fixed pad force feedback crash (now properly enumerates actuators) Disabled vsync in windowed mode to fix speed problems Fixed SPU looping bug: -S option is no longer required (now ignored) Fixed bug where starting in fullscreen would incorrectly resize window Fixed debugger GPU capture Added preliminary version of TheCloudOfSmoke's icon psxemulator.gazaxian.com

improved sounds are waaaaaay nice Thanks - noise is definately a lot closer now + I wasn't emulating FM properly (also got rid of that stupid -S option!). I'm still interested to hear about sound inaccuracies, preferably with a recording of what it sounds like on a real PS1/2.

I'm still interested to hear about sound inaccuracies, preferably with a recording of what it sounds like on a real PS1/2. Colony Wars is still off in the briefing sequences. In earlier revisions, the framerate for those parts would drop down to 50fps and cause a good bit of stuttering before going back to 60fps for the flight sequences (which sounded fine to my ears). Right now the briefing sequences drop to ~55-57, so there's some noticable distortion going on there but it still sounds a hell of a lot better than it used to Anyway, here's a recording of what it's like on a PS2: Colony Wars Capture (640x480, 1200kbps XviD, 320kbps MP3, 43.3mb) ...talk about a game that's aged wonderfully

Man I have this page as a Favorite and I check every day and consistently, almost every 2 weeks, there's been a new release that's fixed a lot of the small nagging problems with this emulator...I already thought it was close enough to perfect for an emulator to be CALLED perfect, but now its just getting past that point.
I feel like I have my old PSX on my HDD.
Keep it up, dude!

nice job again! this is just the best psx emulator available on the net. yeah, is there a way to enable vsync in version 1.3 (like via a command line)? cause I only play the emulator in window mode or could you include a vsync option in the next version to enable and to disable it? I don't have speed problems yet in Valkyrie Profile (only fighting a Dragon Zombie when it performs a spell), thats why I play in window mode. I would also like to mention there are some problems with the savestate and memorycard (in psx 1.2, maybe in 1.3 too) It seems like the savestate also saves the information about the memorycard you inserted and thus the new inserted memory card will not work. For example if you load a savestate (saved: memory card #1 inserted) and you try to load a save (while inserting memory card #7) the game will not recognize the gamesaves cause it seems like it doesn't renew the information about the memory card and thus it will give you broken savegames. This happens in Valkyrie Profile. anyway Big thanks EDIT BTW command line -r is needed to play Valkyrie Profile flawlessly, it will eliminate the freeze/pause problem during battles (100% sure about it), almost finished VP

I don't have speed problems yet in Valkyrie Profile (only fighting a Dragon Zombie when it performs a spell), thats why I play in window mode. VSync in windowed mode was causing problems for the emulators timing. I'll see if I can find a way around it. I would also like to mention there are some problems with the savestate and memorycard (in psx 1.2, maybe in 1.3 too) It seems like the savestate also saves the information about the memorycard you inserted and thus the new inserted memory card will not work. For example if you load a savestate (saved: memory card #1 inserted) and you try to load a save (while inserting memory card #7) the game will not recognize the gamesaves cause it seems like it don't renew the information about the memory card and thus it will give you broken savegames. This happens in Valkyrie Profile. I have looked into this but I'm beginning to think it is actually a bug in those games. It seems that if the game sees no card inserted or an unformatted card at startup it will refuse to write to any cards after that point. In Xenogears the same thing happens, but you can trick it into working by inserting another card, copying a file, then trying to save again! It has nothing to do with savestates... if you start VP with no card inserted (or an unformatted card) and play through to the first save point exactly the same thing happens. If you start the game with a formatted card inserted it works fine... My advice for now is to create cards for games before you start playing (you can format them by going into the BIOS memory card screen)... that way you'll ensure that you can always save Not all games seem to have this problem, so far two that I've seen are VP and Xenogears. Does anyone know if this happens in other emulators? (NOTE: to properly test this you'd have to reproduce the exact same scenario).

ah thanks for enlighten me I did some quick testing with ePSXe and indeed it has the same problem, seems like it is game related. did another test with the game Tales of Destiny in pSX, the problem described above didn't occur, but when making a new card it will ask you to format it and after it is done it shows you the saves of the previous memory card (though it is a newly created memory card). It is nog a big problem though, just overwrite it and it is saved. and again also tested it with ePSXe, in ePSXe it doesn't even ask to format it, it just show you the previous saves but in a newly created memory card (almost the same as pSX). you are right it is not savestate related, sorry to put it on the wrong track thanks!

About the memory card in Valkyrie Profile: I saved all the slots of the memory in epsxe and then in psx and it worked (at least for me). Thanks for the emu, I played the whole CD1 and was great (The game freezes sometimes [in battle], but nothing to worry about]).
P.S: It would be a good idea to be able to enable and to disable the vsync.
